MHLC’s legal services directly assist disadvantaged and vulnerable Victorians to better access and understand their legal rights. This improves their capacity to successfully navigate the mental health and/or legal systems.
None of this would be possible without the support and resources we receive from our funders and stakeholders.
Thank you particularly to the philanthropic sector for enabling our survival, continuation of our service delivery and responsive initiatives development including: Equity Trustees, The Collier Foundation, The Attorney Generals Office, The Helen Macpherson Trust, RE Ross Trust, The Gandel Foundation, The Legal Services Board Grants Program and the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation.
We are able to respond to the very high levels of service demand we receive through the enormous contributions made by our volunteers and students whose work is invaluable.
We would like to acknowledge the Centre for Innovative Justice and RMIT for housing us alongside funding social work and legal support.
We would also like to thank our numerous pro-bono partners including: Ashurst, Sparke and Helmore, Lander & Rogers and Hall & Wilcox.
